Multiplying and dividing with compound measures was the focus of math this week. The girls have taken to this unit with enthusiasm and ease. They even learned the history of the shortest month while problem solving.
We continue to discuss the 1930's. They girls read about Franklin Roosevelt and his attempts to help his fellow Americans during the Great Depression. Fireside Chats and radios as a form of family entertainment were explored. The girls listened to the 1938 radio broadcast of the War of the Worlds. They imagined what people were thinking and illustrated the fictitious Martian attack. Take a look (thanks Eliza and Stella for building the Animoto):
The girls are so excited about the play. Mrs. Ivens shared the rehearsal schedule. All play updates and details will be included in upcoming blog posts.
